Unit 3900 of the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) was established by the War Department at Oregon State College in March 1943. On Dec. 7, 1922, Oregon Agricultural College was granted a license to begin broadcasting radio station KFDJ, which had been put together as a lab experiment by OAC Physics Professor Jacob Jordan.
